BST Expands Product Scope: Medical Supplies Added, Industrial Products Prioritized
BST has updated its production scope. The update covers two things: medical products are now inspected as a standing category, and industrial products are set as the line we will build up over the next five years.
Three Lines of Work
Consumer products remain the largest part of our business: electric appliances and commodities, furniture, kitchen items, consumer electronics, lighting products, toys, gifts and crafts, hardware, garments and shoes.
Medical products are now listed separately: swabs, bandages, blood pressure monitors, face masks, medical tape, eye pads, finger pulse oximeters and thermometers.
Industrial products cover wire and cable, steel pipe and tower, structural material, pump, boiler, valve and oil pipe. We also inspect steel structure, cranes, ships, and oil and gas equipment against international standards.
Industrial Products as the Five-Year Focus
Industrial inspection brings in a small share of our revenue today. Over the next five years we are directing resources to this line and building it into one of our main businesses.
Assignments follow the process already in use: supplier survey before the order, witness of equipment in production, and pre-shipment inspection against international standards. Inspectors in China, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Sri Lanka can take these jobs now.
